Supervisor and External Examiner

I have worked with students as a lecturer, mentor, and examiner in Adult, Further and Higher Education for over 30 years. During my work with the Open University, I specialised in supporting Adult learners with academic literacy and essay writing. I also provide direct face-to-face support and some students work via distance learning tools. 


I currently work as an occasional examiner for CTA and other counseling qualifications. I work as a supervisor with students of psychotherapy in a few modalities, such as TA and Person centered and Integrative qualifications   


I also work in Private Practice as a psychotherapist providing online and/or face-to-face therapy. I support clients who are working through a variety of issues using my training in Transactional Analysis and Attachment style analysis. I specialise in working with relationships, grief and bereavement, redundancy and retirement.

I specialise with working with clients in the performing arts, funded by Music Minds Matter and Equity. I use creative techniques as a part of my work, such as music and art.


I have worked as a Professional Adviser for the Young Minds charity parent helpline (supporting parents with children with mental health difficulties) and as a Crisis Counsellor for Shout Crisis Messenger /text service with texters experiencing suicidal ideation and self-harm. I also used to be a trainer for NHS England for training lecturers for Mental First Aid.
